How to obtain NPAS discounts

To obtain discounts you must use an NPA participating pharmacy that utilizes the "NPAS" system to electronically transmit their claims.  You may ask your Pharmacist if he or she uses NPAS,  call the (NPA) toll-free 24 hours a day, 7 days per week at 1-800-731-7213 for the name of a participating pharmacy or access the network via the internet at www.npanet.com .

Please Note: This benefit program is issued on an individual basis.  If you are acquainted with anyone residing in a participating County who sis not complete their own enrollment form, please inform them that they may contact their local County agency to obtain information on the enrollment procedure.

What is covered under NPAS

This Program covers virtually all medications that require a prescription by either State of Federal law and are prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

*insulin is covered on prescription only.
*Prescriptions will be dispensed as written by the physician.
*There is no limit to the number of prescriptions allowable through your program.
You are covered according to the eligibility guidelines of the National Prescription Health Plan.

Remember:  You can save big $$ with Generics!

Always ask your pharmacist if you may take a generic equivalent drug when being prescribed a medication.  The following are fact about generic medications that you may not know:
Generic medications have the same effect on the body as brand name medications.  Generics must produce the same effect in the body and have the same active ingredients, strength and absorption rate as brand names.
You can easily find if your prescription is available generically simply by asking your doctor or pharmacist.
The majority of generic medications are really manufactured by the same companies that manufacture the brand name medications.  According to the FDA, brand name medications.  According to the FDA, Brand name manufacturers account for 75% of all generic medication production, actually making duplicate versions of their own companies' brand-names, but selling them under a generic name.
